ist zurück in Wuppertal. Der in NewYork und mittlweile fast halbjährig
in Berlin ansässige Soundowner Puma spielt einen der bekanntesten und ältesten
Sounds auf der Welt. Dennis Brown war seiner Zeit ein Riesenfan von LP International
und hat Puma und seine Crew mit eingesungenen exclusiven Specials überschüttet,
so dass die Dubplatebox von Lp heutzutage eine der gefürchtesten auf
der ganzen Welt ist. Die Combination aus alten und neuen Tunes, Roots Reggae
von früher und aktuellem Dancehall von heute, immer mit einer Auswahl
von Exclusiven Specials versehen, machen jeden Lp International Dance zu
einer unvergeslichen Party mit eingebauten Geschichtsstunden. Spätestens
dann wenn früh morgens die alten Garnett Silk und Dennis Brown Dubplates
aus der Anlage klingen wird jeder im Club ein Lp International fan. Um das
ganze Programm gekonnt zu ergänzen wird aus München das künstlerkollektiv
Raggabund die Bühne stürmen und ein Live Showcase abfeuern. Die
beiden Brüder El Criminal und Caramello haben genug Live Erfahrung gesammelt
um wirklich abzurocken und ihr weltweiter Clubhit von 2003 "Por Donde
Vas" wird das Feuerwerk zum explodieren bringen.

INTERNATIONAL BIO:
LP International Soundsystem was founded in New York in 1982 by
its owner Puma after he had just migrated from Jamaica.
In the mid-eighties, like most sounds back then, Puma used to
have a whole crew of singers and DJs working live on the sound.
Among them were artists like Red Fox, Natural Lee, Baby Lou,
Screechie Dan or even the young Shaggy and Rayvon. Because of
his regular sessions every thursday, LP soon became a household
name in New York’s dancehall fraternity.
In the nineties, the trend turned away from the live artists
over to juggling, and Puma stepped up to the time by gathering
a crew of selectors and building up his dubplate box. LP International
started to clash other big international sounds both in Jamaica
and in New York’s ballrooms like the famous Biltmore Ballroom.
Very soon, LP was known as one of the biggest sounds from NY
along with King Addies and Earth Ruler.
Over the years, LP clashed most of the big international sounds
(like Killamanjaro, Bodyguard, Mighty Crown, Black Kat, …)
and has built one of the biggest collections of dubplates in the
whole world – for example, LP is probably the sound with
the most Dennis Brown dubplates in the world.
LP’s crew of selectors went though a few changes, but Puma
always remained as the boss to make sure new selectors would
stick to the LP vibe. Today, the sound is played by Puma, Super
Don and Terror.
Most recently, LP made a return to europe (the first time after
touring the UK in 1999) for the Riddim Clash 2005 in Germany where
they won against Supersonic (GER), Immortal (UK) and Caveman (JA).
On this occasion, Puma linked up with the Supersonic crew, and they
decided to do join forces for a european tour in early 2006.
